In 2014, against the buzzing backdrop of Moscow's street markets, one designer decided to step outside the mainstream. Working alone at a small workbench, she cut and stitched every garment by hand, determined to prove that streetwear could be both durable and purposeful.

Word spread among locals who prized pieces that were as unique as they were - garments made to move differently, with a fit that didn't need a logo to speak for itself.

For years, Defi Design existed as a one-person labor of love. Every drop was small, crafted with intention and sold to a small community. Demand kept growing, and by around 2020 - it became clear that more hands were needed to keep up.

A local tailor joined forces, allowing the workshop to scale while still keeping production small and personal. Around the same time, a package bearing Defi's mark crossed an ocean for the first time - our first international order.

The big turning point came in late 2023 and early 2024, when new partners stepped in who believed in Defi's vision. With their support, we launched our first official website and gained access to a network of more than a dozen operating facilities across multiple continents.

For the first time, Defi could share it's small-batch streetwear with people around the world without compromising on quality or ethics.

A lot has changed since those early days in Moscow, but our values haven't. We still design for people who move differently, choosing heavyweight fabrics and clean cuts over fleeting trends. We still insist on small batches and hands-on production, so that every piece feels considered and personal.

While our reach has expanded, our focus remains on authenticity over volume and on building community over chasing fads.

Today, Defi is a growing global brand - but in many ways, it's still just getting started. We invite you to join us as we write the next chapter of the story that began at a single workbench in Moscow.
